Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has weighed in on the ongoing Africa tour by American streamer IShowSpeed, criticising how Lagos State was represented during the YouTuber’s visit to Nigeria.
IShowSpeed arrived in Lagos last Wednesday as part of Speed Does Africa, a 28-day livestream tour that began on December 29, 2025.
The tour has taken the streamer across multiple African countries, highlighting local culture, people, and landmarks for his international audience, with Nigeria serving as the 15th stop.

Sharing his reaction on Instagram, Kunle described Nigeria’s segment as the weakest among the destinations he had visited so far. He argued that Lagos was presented in a way that failed to reflect the richness and depth of Nigerian culture.
According to the actor, the portrayal leaned heavily on nightlife and surface-level experiences, leaving out the values, heritage, and everyday realities that truly define the city and its people.
“After watching IShowSpeed’s journey so far, Nigeria is the worst on my own list. We just really stripped Lagos naked. No be say anything dey under the clothes before sha,” he wrote.
Kunle further lamented what he sees as a loss of cultural authenticity in what was shown to the world. “Seems like we have lost the essence of culture. our truth! All we have is fake drinks, club and beggy beggy skills,” he added.
His comments have since fueled online discussions around cultural representation and the responsibility that comes with showcasing Nigeria to a global audience.
