Super Eagles player, Taiwo Awoniyi has said that the international friendly match against the Desert foxes of Algeria is very important to them, and it’s something they’ll have to take very seriously.

Awoniyi featured for the super eagles in their test match against Algeria Team B yesterday, the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Alex Iwobi and Cyriel Dessers both scored two goals for the super eagles.

Speaking about Friday’s game, Awoniyi said that it was a great game, which helped them to know each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

He further said that the game will be beneficial to both parties, as it will help them understand themselves in case of any other tournament.

And reflecting on Friday’s draw, his role as a striker, and Tuesday’s tie, Awoniyi said on NFF TV:” It was a good game unfortunately we didn’t win but it’s a game that gets us going and understand each other.

“Every striker wants to score a goal because your job is to score goals and help your teammates.

“I think it will be a good game for both countries. Algeria is a country with a lot of quality players but for us, it is a game which will make us know each other more and keep our focus for the next challenge.”

Super Eagles will try their best to see that they win the match considering that they’ve lost their last three encounters against the desert foxes of Algeria.
