Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has shared his worries about the challenges facing the Nigerian music industry.
He expressed that the music industry is being controlled by the wrong people, emphasising that artists, producers, and other creatives are being sidelined by those without a music-focused background.
The singer pointed out that the wrong individuals are dominating conversations, spreading inaccurate narratives about the industry.
He explained that this is why talent is often overlooked while mediocrity thrives.
Taking to his X page, he wrote, “People who have no business leading music conversations are now controlling and destroying the industry.
“Artists, producers, and real contributors are being overshadowed by people who don’t create, don’t understand, and don’t respect the craft.
“When the wrong people lead the conversation, they push the wrong narratives. That’s why real talent is overlooked, and mediocrity thrives. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
