Pablo Gavira won the Kopa Trophy award at the Balon d’Or awards on Monday night. Several people criticized Gavira for winning the award, as they felt that Musiala and Jude Bellingham were better suited for the award.

Julian Nagelsman, Bayern Munich’s head coach speaking in a press conference said that his player, Musiala or Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham deserved to win the trophy. Nevertheless, Gavira is also an incredible player.

He said, “In my opinion, both Jamal Musiala and Jude Bellingham played a better season than the winner.

“But Gavi is an outstanding player and I’m happy for him too”

Xavi Hernadez, Barcelona’s head coach hits back at Nagelsman, at the pre-match conference for their match against Villarreal on Thursday in the La Liga fixtures.

According to him, Gavi deserved the trophy, and he has very happy with his players who won awards, despite things aren’t going smoothly for them, this is an indication that the club is still very much alive

He said, “For me, it is a much-deserved trophy. I’m happy for our players who won awards, it shows that Barça is alive, Barça is there.

“Although we are not enjoying the best results, we are still there. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.”
