Virtually every female at one time in her life especially in recent times have heard or come across several vaginal products as well as sex enhancement products. Yoni pearls have however been in the market for a while now. For those that do not know what they are, yoni pearls are vaginal detox pearls that looks like small balls covered with a piece of cloth material usually inserted inside the vagina for about 24-48hrs.
The pearls contain osthol, rhubarb, rhizoma, safflower, angelica roots, motherwort, borneol and peach kernel. They are said to be really magical with claims to remove infection, optimum vaginal health, makes conception easily, makes sex more enjoyable and a whole lot more.
With the rate at which online vendors share reviews of their customers with really strong claims on what yoni pearls have done for them, and also back up these claims with pictures, one might be completely convinced to want to give it a try. If all these claims are true, then why so much controversy about them?
First, the said pearls were banned by a government agency in Canada. In Florida, the sale of these pearls have also led to a lawsuit against one company that produces them as it is been identified that the pearls contain at least one very toxic ingredient that causes a very serious aftereffect. The truth is that these pearls actually reduce one’s chances of conception, and increase one’s chances of getting infections.
Contrary to public opinion on how miraculous these pearls are, medically, they are one of the leading causes of vaginal infections. The vagina itself is self-cleansing, this means that when under optimum health condition, it is capable of cleaning itself by itself. That is why doctors warn against using soaps to wash the vagina, as this can destroy the microbial flora down there and lead to infections. Just like soaps, these pearls increase your chances of having an infection.
Lactobacillus acidophilus which is a very helpful microorganism gets destroyed when foreign materials are introduced into the vagina. That is why instead of focusing on these pearls to cure your infection or to indicate if you do have an infection, it is advisable that you just go to a hospital, meet a doctor who would recommend the necessary tests to be carried out.
If the odour or colour of your discharge is a cause for concern, go to a hospital. Instead of using something that would alter your pH down there and subject you to various infection as well as the risk of pelvic inflammatory diseases or ectopic pregnancy. Some researchers say that these pearls can also cause infertility.
Pregnant women, as well as lactating mothers, should never try using these pearls. Infact, nobody should. The high and mighty claims have not medical backing, and the more they stay inside you, the more dangerous they could be to your health. If you feel a particular way, visit the doctor!
For the sake of your health, ignore the whole marketing strategy used to overhype and place unnecessary importance on these pearls. They do not clean your vagina, they do not detox your vagina either. These pearls do not aid conception, they increase your chances of infertility. They do not cure infection, they actually give room for serious infections. If you have any cause for concern on you vaginal health, or issues with conception, kindly see a doctor.
On a final note, I’ll say this. Not just yoni pearls, if any drug or cream is not recommended or given to you by a doctor, do not insert anything down there. Inserting stuffs like ice cream, vaseline, yoghurt, honey, fruit, garlic, sugar, chocolate and the likes for any purpose at all does more harm than good to your health. Most of these things used under the guise of sex enhancement can actually set you up for a roller coaster of health problems.
