Frank Leboeuf, ex-Chelsea star has slammed Trent Alexander Arnold, Liverpool right back, for having redundant skills, saying that he can’t do well, in another team apart from Liverpool.
Alexander is widely recognized as one of the best right back in the world, for the last five seasons. He has helped Liverpool to win the premier league title and the champions league title. He has scored 76 goals for Liverpool in 235 appearances.
However, his creative qualities are not without criticism as many have called the player out for being a liability.
Speaking on this, Leboeuf has said, he admires Alexander’s qualities, but he only thrives because Jurgen Klopp’s style of coaching works for him, as there are so many shortcomings to his defensive qualities this season.
He further said that he would like to coach Alexander on the basics of defense.
“Look at Trent Alexander-Arnold. I love the guy, his offensive qualities. But defensively, he’s Championship level,” Leboeuf told Journal du Dimanche.
“Only [Jurgen] Klopp’s system works for him. When it doesn’t work as well as it has this season, all you see is his defensive shortcomings.
“I want to take him with me to work on the basics. I would say to him, ‘Turn your head and look behind you, it will be better already,’”
Trent John Alexander Arnold is an English professional soccer player who plays as a right back for premier league club Liverpool and the England national team, he is widely recognized as one of the best right backs in the world football.
