Nigel de jong, ex-man city star has stated that Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United head coach, has 23 egos in his squad.
According to him, Erik Ten Hag has 23 egos in his squad, and it is one thing to have the best players in the world on your team, it is another thing, to bring those egos into a team, and Erik Ten Hag is a smart man to have turned these 23 egos into a weapon which he would use to defeat Opponents.
“Erik [Ten Hag] has 23 egos in his squad at [Manchester] United. You can have the best players in the world, but you can only start building a proper side when you can turn all those egos into a team,” De Jong told the Daily Mirror.
“Ten Hag has chosen his players carefully. I can see one thing, he has picked players with whom he can win a war.
He further stated that newly signed Anthony and Martinez both have the killer mentality, as these two will do incredible things for the team.
“I can see the strategy already. Look at [Lisandro] Martinez in the team. He has that killer mentality. Martinez will run through fire for Ten Hag.”
“Antony is adding swagger. He, too, has a mentality that we call ‘over my dead body. The spirit in the team has changed.”
Since Erik Ten Hag coached both players in Ajax, he saw it fit to bring them into his new team. And they’ve both been doing quite well, as Anthony scored his debut goal for Manchester United in their match against Arsenal.
