On Thursday morning, a large group of young people gathered at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos State to commemorate the second anniversary of the EndSARS protest shooting. They carried mock coffins and blood-stained Nigerian flags.

The Lekki Tollgate, the location of the murders that happened on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, was traversed by the march.

The drive-through procession was announced on Wednesday on the Instagram page of entertainer Folarin Falana, also known as Falz the Bahd man.

The procession will mimic the first anniversary, when people drove and walked through the tollgate to memorialize the victims, according to a flyer that Falz published.

At the Lekki Toll Gate, some police cars were, nevertheless, visible on the ground early on Thursday.

Before the march that is scheduled to take place today to remember the alleged killing of residents at the Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, security personnel were seen to have taken control of the toll gate.

The police in Lagos have made four arrests at the Lekki Tollgate while spraying tear gas into the air. Ifeanyi, Olamide Raheemi, Samuel Ishola, and one other individual were among those detained. They were held in a police cruiser.

When the demonstrators placed some coffins at the tollgate to conclude their demonstration, the police began to use tear gas. As the teargas filled the air, many demonstrators, observers, and journalists retreated.
