The Zimbabwean Government says it has facilitated the return of more than 200 foreign nationals who had gathered at the Zimbabwean Consulate in Johannesburg, South Africa.
According to the government, 194 Zimbabwean nationals, including 101 minors, were processed and departed for Zimbabwe on Friday.
A further 56 Nigerian nationals, among them 21 minors, were also processed with assistance from the Nigerian Embassy.
The development forms part of efforts by the authorities to ensure the orderly return of the foreign nationals who had gathered at the consulate.
Deputy Government spokesperson William Baloyi said authorities were working with relevant agencies and other stakeholders to ensure the process was conducted in line with established procedures.

“Government continues to work with the relevant authorities and stakeholders to facilitate an orderly repatriation and deportation; safe and humane process in accordance with applicable laws and established procedures,” Baloyi said.
