Manchester United rose into the Premier League’s top six following a tough 2-1 comeback win against Crystal Palace, halting the Eagles’ remarkable 12-game undefeated streak, at home in the league.
United scored within the first minute when Dean Henderson blocked Casemiro from close up, but Palace soon found their rhythm and started to dominate. Jean-Philippe Mateta posed a threat before earning a penalty after Leny Yoro fouled him. The forward scored on his try—following a retake due to an initial double-touch—to notch his 17th league goal of 2025 and secure a well-earned lead for Palace at halftime.

After the interval, the guests reacted with intensity. Secured their leveller courtesy of Joshua Zirkzee, who ended a 24-game Premier League goal drought by executing an excellent near-post volley from Bruno Fernandes’ assist. Shortly after the minute, United secured the comeback when a smart free-kick manoeuvre allowed Mason Mount to fire a low shot, beneath the Palace wall into the near corner.
From there, United managed the game well, denying Palace any late momentum to secure just their second win in 12 away league fixtures. For Ruben Amorim’s side, it was the perfect bounce-back after defeat to Everton, while Palace suffered a second successive 2-1 loss despite leading both matches.
