2023 Elections: 2 PDP Governors GEJ could back for the presidency

According to reports, former President Goodluck Jonathan is not expected to run for president in 2023. It should be remembered that some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) paid a visit to Jonathan in order to persuade him to abandon his previous party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in favor of the APC. According to reports, Goodluck Jonathan declined their invitation to join the ruling party, APC.

Meanwhile, some of Goodluck Jonathan’s supporters have abandoned the PDP in favor of the APC. Senator Stella Oduah, it should be remembered, was one of the PDP leaders who defected to the APC. Elder Peter Orubebe, the former Minister for the Niger Delta, has joined the APC.

Though it was rumored that Elder Orubebe did not make his defection to the APC public, the truth is that Elder Peter Orubebe had dumped the PDP for the APC.

Goodluck Jonathan, on the other hand, may back some PDP leaders to win the presidency in 2023. Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State is one of the PDP leaders that former President Goodluck Jonathan may support for President if the Presidential ticket is assigned to the North.

Governor Bala Mohammed

Bala Mohammed recently went to Goodluck Jonathan’s house to ask for his help in running for President on the PDP platform, so it’s important to remember that. When Goodluck Jonathan was president, Governor Bala Mohammed was the Minister for the Federal Capital Territory. Meanwhile, Jonathan had made it known to the public that Bala Mohammed had performed admirably during his tenure as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

With all of Jonathan’s praise for Governor Bala Mohammed, it’s clear that he’ll back him if the party’s leaders zone the presidency to the north in 2023.

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, is another PDP governor who might get help from Goodluck Jonathan.

Governor Nyesom Wike

If the party’s leaders zone the presidential ticket to the country’s southern region, Goodluck Jonathan may back Governor Wike.

Though Governor Wike has not declared his intention to run for President under the party’s platform, the truth remains that Governor Wike may run for President.

It should be noted that Governor Wike has a warm relationship with Goodluck Jonathan. When Jonathan was President, he was the Minister of State for Education.

However, because he does not have a solid relationship with any other PDP presidential aspirant, Goodluck Jonathan may find it difficult to support them.

When people think about Governor Wike, they should think about how hard he tried to make sure that Goodluck Jonathan won the presidential election in Rivers State in 2015.
