Iran executes a second prisoner for a protest-related offense.

Iran announced the execution of its second prisoner on Monday, amid national protests questioning the country’s theocracy.

Majidreza Rahnavard was named as the guy executed by Iran’s Mizan news agency, which is part of the country’s court. He was convicted of reportedly stabbing two security force members to death and injuring four others on November 17 in Mashhad.

On Thursday, Iran executed the first prisoner arrested during the protests.

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the protests have grown into one of the most severe challenges to Iran’s theocracy.

Activists fear that more people may be executed soon claiming that a dozen people have already been executed for their role in the protests.
