PUNCH Metro was informed by the Ogun State Police Command that a woman, Haiye Aginni, who is accused of carrying out the attack, has been arrested.

In an interview with PUNCH on Wednesday, the spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, disclosed that the suspect reportedly stabbed the 80-year-old man with a knife in front of the Kara Market mosque.

Odutola claimed that even though the locals and traders tried to transport Bature to the hospital, a doctor pronounced him dead.

She disclosed, “Following the report to the Ojodu Abiodun Police Division, detectives swiftly took action and arrested the suspect.

“Bature’s body has been deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital morgue in Sagamu for preservation and autopsy.

“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.”
