Manchester City Blow 3-0 Lead as Feyenoord Force Dramatic 3-3 Draw

Manchester City’s woes continued as they let slip a comfortable 3-0 lead to settle for a 3-3 draw against Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League, failing to win any of their last six games.

City dominated the early exchanges, Erling Haaland forcing a superb save from Timon Wellenreuther and Phil Foden having his effort deflected wide. Despite Feyenoord’s attempts to settle, Haaland gave City the lead in the 41st minute, converting a penalty after being fouled by Quinten Timber.

City seemed to be well in control after halftime as İlkay Gündoğan’s deflected volley made it 2-0, and another moment later, Haaland added his second courtesy of a mistake from Dávid Hancko. Yet, defensive mistakes proved the same old nemesis for Pep Guardiola’s men.

Feyenoord staged a remarkable comeback in the last 15 minutes. Anis Hadj-Moussa punished a mix-up in the Burnley backline before Santiago Giménez bundled home an equaliser after Jordan Lotomba had hit the post.

The dramatic turnaround was complete in the 86th minute as Igor Paixão found Hancko, who headed into an empty net after catching Ederson out of position.

Jack Grealish almost nicked a late winner for City, but his deflected strike came back off the crossbar. Feyenoord are now unbeaten in 11 away this season as City’s slump goes on.
