Federal High Court, Lagos, has dismissed an application for the enforcement of his fundamental rights brought before it by self-acclaimed Nigerian male Barbie, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, also known as Bobrisky, against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Bobrisky had asked for N200 million as damages for alleged psychotic trauma from the EFCC and another N1 billion from the National Assembly for denying him a fair hearing. He also prayed for an injunction to restrain the EFCC and the National Assembly from further harassing or detaining him.
The suit came after leaked allegations by social media influencer Martins Otse that Bobrisky paid the EFCC N15 million to drop money laundering charges.
Justice Alexander Owoeye, in his judgment, said that the claims lacked merit and were unsupported by evidence. The court also declined to award damages against the EFCC, marking a win for the anti-graft agency.
