Harvesters International Christian Center has reacted to rumors circulating on social media regarding the founder, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, and fraud over real estate.
It had been earlier reported that the pastor was arrested by the police over a fraud case running into billions of naira.
However, the church later clarified in a statement that Pastor Bolaji was only invited by the Nigeria Police Force’s Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, Abuja to shed light on an investigation that has been ongoing for some time regarding a member of the church.
It reiterated that Pastor Bolaji is a law-abiding and responsible leader who cooperated with the authorities to assist them in their inquiries. The church reassured the public that he is not involved in any wrongdoing and remains fully committed to aiding the investigation.
HICC also called on the public to disregard the false reports about Pastor Bolaji and thanked them for their prayers and concern. The pastor himself addressed the allegations, explaining that the only land he owns is one given to him by his parents.
