Manchester City have signed Egypt international Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt for €70m (£59m), potentially rising with add-ons of £4m, to boost their attacking options. The forward has signed until 2029 and has taken the iconic number seven shirt.

Marmoush, 25, arrives at City in a busy January transfer window for the club which has also seen Brazilian defender Vitor Reis and Uzbekistan international Abdukodir Khusanov signed. In 17 Bundesliga games this season, the forward, who can play right across the front line, has been in scintillating form, with 15 goals and 10 assists.

“I’m delighted to have signed for Manchester City,” Marmoush told the club’s official website. The winning culture of this club as well as the influence of Pep [Guardiola] are just huge,” he said. I’m looking forward to coming in and contributing and showing the fans what I can do.”

City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, who will also depart this summer, spoke highly of his new addition: “Omar is a wonderful talent who impresses with his versatility and quality in attack. He has a big future and he can flourish with Pep and our technical team.

Marmoush aims to add to his already-impressive individual contributions as he joins a City side with a reputation for silverware-winning pedigree.
