As someone who lives and breathes streetwear but doesn’t have a front-row seat at fashion week, I’ve always been fascinated by how high-fashion runway trends trickle down into everyday wear.

The Paris Autumn/Winter 2025 Fashion Week was no exception. While I wasn’t there in person, I followed the shows closely online, and let me tell you—there were some serious streetwear moments that got me excited for what the fashion babes will all be wearing in the next year or two.

Here’s my take on the best streetwear-inspired looks from the event, and how I think they’ll translate to real life.

1. Oversized Everything (Because Comfort is King)

Let’s be real: oversized fits have been a streetwear staple for years, and Paris AW 2025 proved they’re not going anywhere. Designers like Balenciaga took the trend to new extremes, with puffer jackets that were either repositioned as giant ball gowns or were pulled in tight and given a corset-like boning. As a street-goer, I’m all for this. Oversized clothes (in whatever shape and form) are comfortable, practical, and usually perfect for layering—something we all need when the weather gets cold and we still want to look fashionable.

• What I’d Wear: A Balenciaga-inspired oversized puffer jacket (or a more affordable brand) paired with slim-fit jeans and chunky sneakers. It’s cozy, it’s cool, and it’s totally stylish for running errands, looking cute on Instagram or hanging out with friends.

2. Return of Cargo Pants Are Back

Cargo pants have always been a streetwear classic, but this season, designers like Off-White gave them a high-fashion makeover. Think tailored silhouettes, premium fabrics, and just the right amount of pockets (I mean, who doesn’t love pockets?). I’m excited to see how this trend will play out in everyday wear. Perhaps, this might dethrone baggy jeans and the final demise of skinny jeans.

• What I’d Wear: A pair of olive green cargo pants with a cropped hoodie and white sneakers. It’s a simple, laid-back look that still feels fresh and on-trend.

3. Gender-Fluid Fashion

One of the coolest things about streetwear is how inclusive it is, and this season, designers like Valentino  took that inclusivity to the next level. With the backdrop of a red, gender-neutral bathroom, Valentino’s creative director, Alessandro Michele was thinking of intimacy mixed with themes of gender fluidity (pieces that anyone could wear).

Undone lace bodysuits, plush fur coats, draped bows and snakeskin, were some of the themes seen on the runway. As someone who loves styling clothes from friends of all genders, I’m thrilled to see this trend gaining momentum.

• What I’d Wear: A unisex hoodie or oversized jacket paired with biker shorts or baggy jeans. It’s a look that’s comfortable, versatile, and totally gender-neutral.

My Personal Favorites (And How I’d Style Them)

While I loved almost everything I saw, a few pieces really stood out to me as wearable, real-life inspo:

– Balenciaga’s Oversized Designs: I’d pair the giant ball gowns with kitten heels for a cool but stylish, put-together inspired look.

– Off-White’s Tailored Cargo Pants: I’d style them with a cropped hoodie and chunky sneakers for a casual, street-ready vibe.

Conclusion

As a street fashion lover, I’m always looking for ways to incorporate high-fashion trends into my everyday wardrobe, and Paris AW 2025 gave me plenty of inspiration. From oversized fits to sustainable streetwear, the collections showed that fashion can be both functional and stylish. While I might not be able to afford the runway versions yet, I’m excited to see how these trends will trickle down into more affordable brands and street style.
