United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has announced that the U.S. will hold direct talks with Iran on Saturday to address Iran’s nuclear program. The meeting is scheduled to happen in Oman, where U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff will meet a top Iranian official.

Rubio confirmed this on Thursday, speaking during a Cabinet meeting chaired by President Donald Trump. He stated, “We hope that’ll lead to peace. We’ve been very clear what Iran is never going to have as a nuclear weapon, and I think that’s what led to this meeting.”
