Russian Drone Strike Kills One in Zhytomyr Region

A Russian drone strike on Thursday night killed one person and injured five others in Zhytomyr region, which is west of Kyiv. One of the injured victims is a child. The news was confirmed by Governor Vitaliy Bunechko.

He posted a video on Telegram, showing the damage. In the video, the building behind him appeared burned and broken. Bunechko also said that five buildings in the Zhytomyr district were damaged during the Russian drone attack.

Ozerne Airfield Town Targeted in Drone Attack

According to public broadcaster Suspilne, the attack hit Ozerne, a town known for hosting a military airfield. Local residents said the drone exploded near their homes. Windows were shattered, and the air smelled of smoke.

Drone Attack on Zhytomyr Sparks Fear and Damage

The Russian drone strike in Zhytomyr is another reminder of how civilians continue to suffer in the ongoing conflict. Burned homes, injured children, and shaken families are the daily reality for many in Ukraine.

Governor Bunechko said in his statement that support will be provided for the affected families. He also asked residents to stay alert and follow safety instructions in case of more drone strikes.
