A Russian drone strike on Thursday night killed one person and injured five others in Zhytomyr region, which is west of Kyiv. One of the injured victims is a child. The news was confirmed by Governor Vitaliy Bunechko.
He posted a video on Telegram, showing the damage. In the video, the building behind him appeared burned and broken. Bunechko also said that five buildings in the Zhytomyr district were damaged during the Russian drone attack.
Ozerne Airfield Town Targeted in Drone Attack
According to public broadcaster Suspilne, the attack hit Ozerne, a town known for hosting a military airfield. Local residents said the drone exploded near their homes. Windows were shattered, and the air smelled of smoke.
This area has been on high alert because of its strategic location. The drone strike on Zhytomyr has added fear to an already tense situation. Many families are now left without homes or safety.
