Afrobeats star Davido has recounted how his first encounter with American R&B icon Chris Brown marked a turning point in his music career.
While narrating the story, Davido revealed that their connection began through a FaceTime call from a Nigerian friend of Chris Brown. During the call, a song was playing in the background, and the friend asked if the track belonged to Davido.
“I replied yes. He then tilted the phone to Chris Brown and I realized he was dancing to my song at the background of the call. So that’s how we had out first conversation together”.
Following the call, Davido said he travelled to the United States and eventually met Chris Brown in person. Their connection was instant, and a strong friendship quickly blossomed.
Davido also shared that the bond grew stronger as they began working together and even travelled to South Africa for a show where he performed alongside the American star.
Reflecting on the experience, Davido credited the moment as a life-changing one in his journey as an artist.
