Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has publicly lamented the freezing of his First Bank Nigeria account, claiming he has been unable to access his funds for over a month.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, the street-hop artiste disclosed that although money keeps coming into the account, he is unable to make withdrawals or complete transfers.

He expressed his hesitation to file a formal complaint at the bank, citing personal safety concerns. “I won’t lodge complaint because banks now kidnap,” he said in the emotional video, referencing alleged incidents of kidnapping in banking premises.

Portable emphasized that the money in question was legitimately earned from his music career. “I have money, billions of money. I don’t do scam. I do music for a living,” he stressed.

He added that his account continues to receive daily deposits and questioned the logic behind the restriction. “Money enters my account daily by daily. If there is no issue, money should enter,” he remarked.

Calling on the bank to take swift action, the singer pleaded, “Please, First Bank Nigeria, I own the money. The money is my money. I keep the money in your account.”

Portable revealed that he does not operate any other bank accounts and clarified that there are no ongoing legal matters that should affect his banking access.

“Maybe I have some kind of issue with people, with court, police, all those kind of things. We have solved the issue. No issue again,” he explained.

Concluding his plea, Portable urged First Bank to restore his access. “Please, open my bank. First Bank account. Open it,” he said.

As of press time, First Bank Nigeria has not issued any official response regarding the claims.
