Makinde reshuffles Oyo cabinet in new ministerial shake-up

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has reshuffled his cabinet, the announcement was made in a letter signed by his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, and made public by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju. The letter was released in Ibadan on Monday. The reshuffle affects five ministries and their commissioners. It takes effect immediately.

Commissioners redeployed across five ministries

The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Seun Ashamu, has been moved to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, who was in charge of that ministry, has been transferred to the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport. According to the letter,

“The reshuffle will see the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Seun Ashamu, move to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, while the current Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, will move to the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport.”

Makinde reshuffles Oyo cabinet in new ministerial shake-up

The Commissioner for Public Works, Dahud Shangodoyin, will now serve as the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources. Solihu Adelabu, who headed the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has been moved to the Ministry of Establishments and Training. Segun Olayiwola, the former Commissioner for Establishments, has taken over at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Makinde calls for loyalty and commitment

Governor Makinde urged the commissioners to remain committed to their new roles. He said the reshuffle is with immediate effect and is aimed at strengthening governance in the state. He called on the affected officials to continue serving with loyalty and dedication.
