Controversial Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has accused First Bank Nigeria Limited of blocking his account and tracking his whereabouts, sharing his frustrations in an emotional video on social media.
In the video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Portable expressed his distress over being unable to access his funds, urging the bank to resolve the issue promptly.
“First Bank, I beg. I use God beg una,” he said, pleading with the bank. “Don’t let them spoil your business. I have followers. I have fans. This is my mouth, I can use it to do good to your life.”
He warned that the bank’s actions could damage its reputation among his vast fanbase. “If I tell people to continue using your bank, they’ll use it. But if I say otherwise—that they should stop saving with you and bury their money…”
Portable also voiced concerns about being tracked, claiming it was a deliberate attempt to harm him. “They’re tracking me from First Bank, they want to kidnap me. Who are those people tracking me? Is it money I owe?”
Reiterating his innocence, he added, “I didn’t rape, I didn’t kill, I’m not involved in fraud. Customers are always right, stop this.”
He concluded with an urgent plea for the bank to reopen his account. “I have over 400 billion. I have spent money, and more is still coming. Help me, First Bank. Today is Monday, open my account, please.”
At the time of writing, First Bank has not issued a response to the allegations.
