Ebuka Returns as Host for BBNaija Season 10

Media personality and fashion icon Ebuka Obi-Uchendu resumed his long-standing role as host of the show. A former housemate himself in the very first edition, Ebuka has become synonymous with BBNaija’s modern-day success, steering the ship with charm and precision since 2017.

This season’s launch was aired live across Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Urban, and Showmax, pulling in millions of viewers for the double-premiere weekend on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27.

A Decade of Drama: BBNaija at 10

From its inception in 2006 to this landmark 10th season in 2025, BBNaija has grown into a cultural force, generating conversations, launching careers, and building an empire of influencers and entertainers. The show has aired over 709 days of content, featured 197 housemates, and awarded more than ₦637 million in prize money.

To date, BBNaija has produced nine winners, each of whom left an indelible mark on the show and the entertainment scene at large.

Meet All the Past Winners of BBNaija (Seasons 1–9)

Season 1 – Katung Aduwak (2006)

The journey began in 2006 with Katung Aduwak winning the debut edition, then known as “Big Brother Nigeria.” The show laid the groundwork for what would become a television phenomenon, though it took an 11-year break before returning in 2017.

Season 2 “See Gobe” – Efe Ejeba (2017)

After a long hiatus, BBNaija returned with its “See Gobe” edition, where Efe Ejeba captivated the country with his street-savvy charm and popular slogan “Based on logistics,” winning over Bisola Aiyeola in a close final.

Season 3 “Double Wahala” – Miracle Igbokwe (2018)

In 2018, the charismatic pilot Miracle Igbokwe emerged winner, outshining housemates like Tobi Bakre and Cee-C. His calm demeanor and strategic game play won him the prize and the audience’s affection.

Season 4 “Pepper Dem” – Mercy Eke (2019)

The “Pepper Dem” season gave BBNaija its first-ever female winner: Mercy Eke. With her bold personality and sharp instincts, Mercy defeated Mike Edwards in a hotly contested finale, becoming a brand ambassador and influencer afterwards.

Season 5 “Lockdown” – Laycon (2020)

Laycon (Olamilekan Agbeleshe), a budding rapper and intellectual, stole the hearts of Nigerians during the COVID-19 pandemic. His inspirational journey from underdog to winner made Season 5 one of the most emotional yet.

Season 6 “Shine Ya Eye” – Whitemoney (2021)

The sixth season saw Whitemoney (Hazel Oyeze Onou) rise to fame through his authenticity and hard work. His cooking skills and street intelligence earned him massive fan support and the ₦90 million prize.

Season 7 “Level Up” – Phyna (2022)

Phyna (Ijeoma Josephina Otabor) brought energy, drama, and boldness to the house. She became the second woman to win BBNaija, defeating Bryann and winning over fans with her “no-holds-barred” personality.

Season 8 “All Stars” – Ilebaye Odiniya (2023)

In a twist-filled “All Stars” edition featuring past housemates, Ilebaye Odiniya defied expectations by beating veterans like Mercy Eke and Cee-C to take home ₦120 million.

Season 9 “No Loose Guard” – Kellyrae (2024)

The most recent winner before this year’s edition was Kellyrae (Kingsley Sule), who entered the house as part of a married duo known as DoubleKay. The season introduced a “pairing format” that was later dissolved, and Kellyrae eventually won as a solo player, becoming the first married winner in BBNaija history.

Season 10: New Housemates, New Format, Bigger Prize

This year’s edition is already grabbing headlines for its ₦150 million grand prize, the largest in the history of the show. While the new format has not yet been fully unveiled, organisers have hinted at unexpected twists and a redesigned experience for both housemates and viewers.

The selection process involved both online and physical auditions held in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu between May 16 and May 18, 2025. The turnout was overwhelming, reflecting the show’s continued relevance and popularity.

Fans have already begun speculating about alliances, possible villains, and early favorites, with millions voting and watching in real time through the DStv and Showmax platforms.

Looking Ahead: Who Will Join the BBNaija Hall of Fame?

As BBNaija Season 10 unfolds, viewers across Africa will be watching closely to see who will rise, who will fall, and who will make it to the final day with ₦150 million in hand.

Whether it’s through strategy, popularity, or sheer resilience, one housemate will eventually join the prestigious list of BBNaija winners—adding a new name to the hall of fame and continuing the show’s storied legacy.
