Former Big Brother Naija star, Leo Dasilva, has expressed deep concern over the alarming rise of counterfeit products in Nigeria, especially in Abuja.

Taking to social media, the reality TV star voiced his frustration about the growing circulation of fake everyday items, including pharmaceuticals and personal care products, which he said pose serious health risks to unsuspecting consumers.

Leo revealed that within a single month, he unknowingly purchased several fake products, including commonly used items like cod liver oil, antacids, toothpaste, and face wash.

Leo Dasilva Raises Alarm Over Surge of Fake Products in Abuja, Urges NAFDAC to Act

“In one month, I have bought fake cod liver oil, fake Gestid, fake Sensodyne, fake Simple face wash, fake deodorant, etc.
NAFDAC need to raid all big supermarkets in Abuja,” he wrote.

He described the situation as “ridiculous,” calling out the abundance of counterfeit goods now found in major stores.

“The amount of fake drugs, fake deodorants, fake toothpaste and fake skin care in Nigeria is ridiculous,” he added.

Leo also urged the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to take urgent steps to clamp down on the distribution of these fake items, especially in the Federal Capital Territory.
