Popular Nigerian relationship therapist, Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has spoken out strongly against the arrest of her fiancé, auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, also known as IVD, by the Lagos State Police Command.
IVD was reportedly arrested at the airport while attempting to board a flight to Qatar. His arrest is said to be connected to the ongoing court case surrounding the death of his late wife, Bimbo, which involves allegations of domestic violence. Authorities claim he was restricted from traveling abroad pending the conclusion of the legal proceedings.
However, Blessing CEO insists no such restriction was ever placed on him. Reacting via her Instagram page, she confirmed the arrest and argued that IVD would not have made his travel plans public if he had been barred from leaving the country.
“There was no ban whatsoever on him,” she wrote.
“IVD has never jumped bail for three years of the ongoing case, so why would he run away now for just a 10-day trip with a return ticket?”
Blessing CEO further alleged that the arrest was orchestrated through the influence of a high-ranking individual who ordered IVD’s detention without due process.
“No case file, no statement—just an order from ‘Oga’ to hold him till Monday. This is not justice; it’s bullying,” she said.
She described the situation as an abuse of power and accused the state of launching a “tribal war” against her fiancé.
“This is injustice. They have bullied him for over three years,” she said.
Calling on the Lagos State government to intervene, she warned that the situation could spiral out of control if not properly addressed.
