Jose Mourinho has been fired by Turkish club Fenerbache after the exit in the Champions League play-offs by Benfica, after less than a year on the job.
Fenerbahce, in a statement, said that Mourinho had “separated” from the club and a club member told the BBC that the shooting had taken place. They sympathized with the 62-year-old for his struggle and wished him success in his future path.
Mourinho managed to get Fenerbahce to come second in the Turkish Super Lig last season but he at times in Istanbul, his time was not without controversy. He was charged for criticizing the referees in an excessive manner and got a four-match suspension which was later downgraded to two.
Galatasaray, in February, accused him of making racist remarks at the time of the derby, but he denied the allegations, and in addition, filed a counterclaim for damages of 1,907,000 Turkish Lira (£41,000).
After three years at Roma, Mourinho, who won the Europa Conference League in 2022, is coming back to Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham, the former boss of these clubs is expected to take over a new position. With Porto and Inter Milan, he won the Champions League twice. Now, he is leaving Turkey and the question of his next job is back again.
