Veteran music producer and Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy has shared how reaching the top of Nigeria’s music industry has come with personal sacrifices.
In a recent interview on the Echo Podcast, the 42-year-old revealed that while he does not regret his career, he may have unknowingly given up on one part of his life: getting married.
When asked what he had to let go for his success, Don Jazzy said he never imagined being single in his 40s.
“I never thought I’d be in my 40s and not married. Maybe that’s the one I lost along the way. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, I’m totally fine,” he said.
The producer, who has helped shape the careers of stars like Tiwa Savage, Rema, and Ayra Starr, also said that his life would always revolve around music, even if he were not managing a record label.
Despite the sacrifices, Don Jazzy said he feels fulfilled and proud of everything he has achieved in the music industry.
