Nigerian rapper, Zlatan Ibile, has opened up about how becoming a father at 25 reshaped his life, saying the experience came with major adjustments and responsibilities.
Speaking on the latest episode of the “Is This A Safe Space?” podcast, the Zanku crooner revealed that welcoming his son five years ago forced him to reassess his priorities and lifestyle.
According to him, fatherhood not only changed his mindset but also affected his finances in ways he hadn’t anticipated.

“The birth of my son changed me. It made me realise that life was getting more serious. I wasn’t prepared. I started paying house rent in London at 25. I was scared I might not be able to keep up with the bills because some people were saying I might not be relevant in the music industry for more than three years,” Zlatan shared.
He went on to admit that the new phase pushed him to become more financially disciplined and deliberate about his spending habits.
“I became more serious with managing my finances. Limited spending and started saving for diapers,” he recalled.
Reflecting further, Zlatan noted that fatherhood made him regret some of his past actions and helped him cut off certain habits he once indulged in. He added that his son’s birth gave him a renewed sense of direction and responsibility, describing it as a major turning point in his life.
