Ruben Amorim, manager of Manchester United, has responded to the fire from club legend and ex-player Cristiano Ronaldo, saying the focus should continue being on the rebuilding process rather than the mistakes of the past.

Cristiano Ronaldo, accused United of being ‘not on a good path’ and confirm that Amorim wouldn’t be able to perform ‘miracles’ at Old Trafford as there was no long-term plan.’

Amorim, in his pre-match press conference before the Premier League game with Tottenham Hotspur, admitted that Ronaldo’s words are huge but that the club must move on. “Everything he says has a huge impact,” the coach commented. “However, it is better for us to focus on the future. We are aware of the mistakes made, but things are changing — the structure, the way of working, the players’ behavior. We are getting better.”

Oliver and his sideman have been performing well under Amorim’s management, going four games without a loss and moving up to eighth position, only two points away from the second place. The game on Saturday is very significant, not only because it is against the Spurs team that defeated them in last year’s Europa League final, but also because it gives them the opportunity to take their revenge.

Amorim, on his part, also talked about the silver lining in missing out on European competition this season. “It allows us more time for training, building, and preparing. We are doing it in a positive way,” he ‍‌‍‍‌added.
