Renowned music producer and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has declared that his former signee, Wande Coal, possesses the best vocals in the Nigerian music industry.
The veteran producer made the statement during an interactive session with fans on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.
A fan had complimented Don Jazzy, describing his voice as the best and most unique in the Nigerian music scene. However, the music executive humbly disagreed with part of the compliment, admitting that while his voice is indeed unique, Wande Coal’s vocal ability stands above the rest.
“Most unique I agree, best na Wande [Coal],” he wrote.
Wande Coal, who was formerly signed under Don Jazzy’s defunct Mo’ Hits Records, is often praised for his smooth vocals and distinct sound. Over the years, top Afrobeats stars like Wizkid, Fireboy DML, and Oxlade have cited him as a major influence on their musical journey.
