Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has spoken out following the public alarm triggered by a recent cry-for-help message that circulated online.
The singer stressed that the situation has been exaggerated and is now endangering his wife, Natasha.
2Baba clarified that he did not publish the now-deleted Instagram story that sparked the frenzy.
He explained that the viral message created unnecessary tension around his home and misrepresented the state of his marriage.

In a video shared on Wednesday by an X.com (formerly Twitter) user, #AsakeGrn, the Afrobeats star expressed concern about the escalating narrative, warning that fan reactions could worsen matters. According to him, the situation has spiralled far beyond what is normal.
“This is getting out of hand, this is a dangerous situation, I know what fans can do, I know what people can do, and this is putting Natasha at risk,” he said.
He appealed to his supporters, loved ones, and the general public to step back and allow him and his wife to settle their issues privately. While noting that disagreements are a normal part of relationships, he described the current online uproar as excessive.
“It is not fair on anybody to face this kind of thing, so I need everybody to calm down, I need everybody to cease fire, we are going to resolve all these issues. People dey get issues for house, no be today, but this is getting out of hand. Friends, family, everybody, cease fire, I am perfectly fine. I did not post that post, please, I am okay,” he added.
The singer’s statement follows earlier reports that he was briefly detained by UK police during his October tour after an alleged altercation with Natasha. The issue resurfaced during an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where the couple were overheard arguing, further fuelling speculation about a possible marital crisis and concerns regarding 2Baba’s well-being.
