Tottenham have reportedly come to an agreement with Crystal Palace for the sale of Brennan Johnson, but the Wales international has not yet made up his mind about the next step in his career.
Spurs brought in Johnson from Nottingham Forest last year for £47.5 million, but after the latest appointment of Thomas Frank as head coach, his status as a key player has been downgraded. It is stated in ”The Athletic’‘ that the North London club has agreed to a £35 million bid from Palace, with the head coach willing to sell the 24-year-old as part of the long-term rebuilding plan.
The transfer is still at the negotiation stage, however, as Johnson remains undecided. The winger could commit to Palace, stay and fight for his place at Tottenham, or hold on for a better offer from another club, as there are allegedly quite a few teams interested in him for the January transfer window.

Johnson’s struggle to get regular playing time is a fact, and the biggest reason behind it is the signing of Mohammed Kudus, who has completely secured the right-wing spot and has already contributed six assists and two goals in 17 Premier League matches. As a matter of fact, the top scorer in the 2022-23 Championship has netted in his first two games of the current season while playing on the left flank but, even so, he has only been in the starting lineup in six league matches under Frank.
Johnson has fallen out of favor and his minutes have been limited, yet Frank stood by him, emphasizing that the player is still “very important” to the team and that he only needs to wait for his chance in what has become a highly competitive side.
