The Anambra state ministry of Youths Development has empowered 21 youths of the 21 local Government Areas of the state. This empowerment followed suit during the graduation of the Youth Desk Officers on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) after four weeks of intense training.
During the event, The Desk Officers were also gifted Laptops to enable them to operate the novel-created data bank for the youths in the state.
The event was attended by Chairmen and leaders of various youth organizations in the state at the Government House, Awka.
The data bank would contain collected vital information of the youth in each local Government by the Desk officers.
The Desk Officers would also take charge of other youth Functions in their various local Governments and also help to strengthen youth-based organizations at the grassroots.
Mr.Patrick Agha-Mba, the commissioner for Anambra Youths Development has stated that the ministry has been charged with the responsibility of digitalizing the Anambra tribe with the vision of becoming a smart megacity.
He also noted that the ministry is interested in pursuing community-based programs for youths in the state.
The commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Community Affairs, Mr. Collins Nwabunwanne, in a Goodwill message, opined that a lot of responsibility is demanded of the graduating youths and as such, they should lead up to expectations.
He also urged them to have good working relationships amongst themselves to ensure a more positive outcome.
