The governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has emerged as the winner of the ticket to contest for the senatorial seat for Sokoto South under the people’s democratic party.
The local government under the federal constituency which he would be representing is seven in number and they include Bodinga, Dange/Shuni, Kebbe, Shagari, Tambuwal, Tureta, and Yabo.
The governor was a former presidential aspirant under the party but had stepped down just before the primary election for Atiku Abubakar who was finally selected to fly the flag of PDP for the presidential position.
Tambuwal was formerly in the lower chamber; the house of representative which he became the speaker of the house of representative in his third term of being a speaker. He would be contesting this position with incumbent Senator the Federal Constituency, Danbaba Dambuwa, who had recently left the PDP to join the APC.
