Bankole Wellington, a Popular Nigerian musician also called Banky W has won the rerun primary election for the federal constituency of Eti-Osa.

Banky W got 24 votes leaving his opponent, Sam Aiboni with only 5 votes out of 29 votes. The first primary election that was held last month was canceled due to irregularities in the party’s electoral committee. The artiste was still seen as the best candidate as he still won the ticket with a large margin.

He shared a picture of the result on his social media and also a video thanking the leaders of the People’s Democratic party for encouraging him to become a member of the party and for supporting him through the journey. He added that this is not a sprint but a marathon and people should remember that it is for the good of the Eti-Osa people and not for himself. He also begs for people to join him in his campaign as it is time for everyone to “TalkandDo”.

“Grateful for the win, ready for the work. The journey continues, but first, thank you. Thank you all so much and may God bless us all as we attempt to play a part in the rescue and rebuilding of our nation.”

His wife, Adesuwa Etomi also took to her Twitter page to appreciate God.

“AGAIN, all Glory to God.” She wrote.
