Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has written an open letter addressing it to the former Governor of Lagos State and Presidential aspirant under the All progressive party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He starts the letter by calling Tinubu “the leading light of the nation”. He also added that the letter is not expected to be patronizing as he writes not based on his subjective views as a politician but as a Yoruba man.
He said he is not a member of APC and he would never be one but he writes to address the possible dangers Tinubu could face in the future due to his good nature.
He further went on to address the outburst Tinubu had in Abeokuta, saying it was an indication that he had also seen the danger he was in and this outburst is what has formed the contents of the letter.
Having watched the reactions of political elites in the North and south, Fayose had said that the Presidential aspirant was in grave danger. He cited the history-making note of Obafemi Awolowo, and Alhaji Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, who were killed because of their political ambition, saying that the handwriting was on the wall and people were waiting not only to see his actions and reactions but to also do the same thing they did to Abiola and Awolowo.
He advised him using a verse in the bible from Proverbs chapter 22 verse 3 which says ” Sensible people would see trouble coming and avoid it but unthinking people will walk into it.”
He ended the letter by saying he does not want to be misinterpreted and he would allow him to make his decisions and not tell him what to do as he is a wise full-grown man.
