An unexpected exchange involving Nollywood veteran Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has captured attention online after she declined to introduce herself during a live interview at the 46th Miss Nigeria Patrons & Board Dinner on Sunday.
The incident took place during the high-profile gathering, which also featured the Daily Times Young Fashion Designer of the Year Award. In a video now circulating widely, a young presenter approached the actress while live on air and attempted to begin an interview by prompting her to state her name.
“Alright, welcome to 2026 Miss Nigeria dinner. I am currently live with…?” the presenter said.
The request appeared to surprise the actress, who paused before expressing disapproval of the approach.
“You are here with who? I should tell you my name? You are not ready,” she responded.
In an effort to ease the situation, the presenter explained that he was already aware of her identity but wanted to make it clear for viewers watching.
“I know you, Omotola Jalade, I just want fans to know who I am with,” he said.
However, the explanation did little to change the actress’s reaction, as she dismissed the request.
“Why should I let fans know me? I am tired,” she replied.
She then attempted to step away from the interview, while the presenter continued to appeal to her, with the interaction lingering briefly before ending.
