Veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji has thrown his weight behind President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, describing him as the most capable among expected contenders.
Orji made this known during an appearance on the KaaTruths podcast, where he reaffirmed his support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, citing his leadership qualities and track record.
Explaining his stance, the actor pointed to Tinubu’s time as governor of Lagos State, highlighting what he described as competence and a commitment to inclusive governance.
“I am an Igbo man. I supported Tinubu because, among the three presidential candidates, to me, he was the most qualified in terms of competence and capacity to carry out necessary reforms,” Orji said.

He also praised the president’s approach to diversity, noting that Tinubu’s administration in Lagos reflected inclusivity.
“One of the things that endeared him to me was the fact that when he was governor of Lagos state, there was always an Igbo man in his cabinet.
“It tells you that this is somebody who believes in inclusivity — someone who believes in the Nigerian project regardless of your ethnic background. As long as you are competent, he will bring you in to work with him.”
Orji further emphasised that Tinubu has distinguished himself by mentoring individuals across different ethnic groups.
“Among the presidential candidates, if you talk about someone who has raised people, he is the only one who has done so both within and outside his ethnic extraction,” he added.
The actor’s recent comments are consistent with his earlier position, having openly supported Tinubu’s presidential ambition as far back as 2022, before the official campaign period began.
