The entire footballing world has been petrified with Lamine Yamal getting injured during FC Barcelona’s 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo.
The young man, only 18 years of age, scored the winning goal on Wednesday but immediately showed he was in pain and left the field before halftime, and didn’t celebrate.
Initial report from ESPN made a connection to a muscle tear, but other medical examinations are still expected to show the level of injury.

In case his injury is not serious, Yamal could be able to come back within a month. On the contrary, if it is a serious one, he might not be able to play for the rest of the season, and in such a case, going to the 2026 World Cup will become almost impossible.
Barcelona, who are leading the league by 9 points, might still survive without him at home. On the other hand, missing Yamal is definitely going to hurt. Also, Yamal might not be able to play against arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Hansi Flick, after the match, confirmed that he is worried. Besides that, Gavi said that he was unsure whether the player was still in pain, and said that he looked “very sad” in the changing room.
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente will be anxiously standing by for updates as Yamal is at the heart of their World Cup plan.
