Pop superstar Rihanna has shut down rumours of tension with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, following speculation about their behaviour at the 2026 Met Gala.
The pair had sparked online discussion after being seen in what appeared to be a tense moment inside a sprinter van after the high-profile event. However, Rihanna later addressed the rumours by sharing a behind-the-scenes clip on social media.
Posting the video with the caption “met recap,” she showed herself and A$AP Rocky laughing and interacting warmly, suggesting there was no rift between them.
In the clip, Rihanna was seen having her makeup done while smoking, while Rocky appeared relaxed as he raised a glass in a celebratory toast. The footage showed the couple in a cheerful mood, directly contradicting earlier speculation.
A source told TMZ that the moment that went viral was simply due to exhaustion after a long night at the Met Gala, rather than any disagreement between the couple.
They also clarified that Rihanna’s reaction had nothing to do with Rocky’s interaction with Italian fashion designer Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, describing it as a casual conversation with no romantic undertones.
The couple’s publicist, through Backstage Live Event, also addressed the rumours, assuring fans that the two are still very much together.
“Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are very much in love and there was no issue whatsoever,” the statement confirmed, adding that the viral moment was misinterpreted.
Rihanna stunned at the event in a sculptural Maison Margiela gown, which she described as “giving oyster,” while A$AP Rocky wore a custom pink Chanel robe as a tribute to their daughter, Rocki, born in September 2025.
The couple, who also share two sons, RZA and Riot, have remained in the spotlight for both their fashion appearances and family life, with Rihanna previously revealing her third pregnancy during the 2025 Met Gala.
