According to reports from Spain, 26-year-old forward Julian Alvarez rejected offers from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain this summer as he remains focused on securing a move to Barcelona.
The Argentine international has been identified as a target for La Liga champions this summer as boss Hansi Flick is keen on bolstering the attacking department. Earlier this month, it was revealed Barcelona had a five-year contract agreement in place with Alvarez, but they continue to struggle to agree a deal with Atletico Madrid. However, Barcelona face the challenge of signing the Argentine, who is one of the important players of the Los Rojiblancos.
Earlier this month, Spanish giants launched an offer of €100 million, which Atletico rejected. But Real Madrid have reportedly entered the race with a more substantial offer, though Alvarez reportedly does not want to move to Santiago Bernabeu.
Alvarez is currently representing Argentina in their pursuit of glory in the World Cup, but Barcelona are reportedly hopeful that his desire to join the club will sway a move in the future.

It is possible for the Catalan side to look at the possibility of including some of their players in the bid for Alvarez in an attempt to reduce the transfer fee requested by Atletico Madrid.
Midfielder Marc Casado is rumored to be a possible candidate, along with Ferran Torres, for whom Barcelona might be planning to offer an extension. The arrival of Alvarez would also serve as a long-term plan for Barcelona to replace Robert Lewandowski, whose departure from Camp Nou seems inevitable.
