U.K University Strips Former Deputy Senator Ike Ekweremadu of His Visiting Professor Title

The United Kingdom’s University of Lincoln has stripped ex- Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, of his visiting professorship title after his arrest and arraignment at the Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court by the Metropolitan Police on organ harvesting allegations.

Ike Ekweremadu was just recently conferred a visiting professor of Corporate and International Linkages by the varsity but he has, however, been also banned from performing any functions related to the title pending the verdict of his organ harvesting trial slated for July 7.

This recent update is following Thursday’s arrest of Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, in London for allegedly conspiring to illegally smuggle in a 15-year-old boy identified as David Nwamini Ukpo, to harvest his kidney to give to his daughter who has a kidney failure.

While stripping the Senator of the role in a statement on Friday, the University representative has reported that Ike Ekweremadu’s duties at the university have been suspended for the time being pending the court’s decision. The institution further said that visiting professors were in most cases, non-resident at the varsity, unpaid, and mostly advisory. The former Senator had been conferred into the role by the University only al

most two weeks ago on June 12 and he had announced this appointment by posting it online.
