Numerous people have died in an Egypt church fire

Dozens of people died in Egypt after a church caught fire; many of whom were trampled in a hurried attempt to escape. Authorities report that there have been at least forty more fatalities and several injuries. There could be kids among the dead. An electrical fire occurred at the Coptic Abu Sifin church in Giza, where about five thousand people had assembled for Mass. Sources claim that the fire blocked an entrance and caused a stampede. 

The fire has been put out, and the specific cause of the incident is unknown, according to the fire department. The short circuit, according to Father Farid Fahmy of a different nearby church in the Imbaba district, was the culprit. President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi sent his heartfelt condolences to the families of the innocent victims who had “gone on to be with their Lord at one of his places of worship.” Additionally, he authorized the troops to rebuild the church. 

The prosecutor’s office disclosed that a team had been sent to the scene to investigate the cause of the incident. The metropolis of Giza, which is a component of Greater Cairo, is situated right over the Nile from Cairo. At least 10 million of Egypt’s 103 million residents identify as Coptic Christians. 

Copts claim that despite their very small population, they face prejudice and are less influential in Egyptian society.
