The U_20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica has ended with Spain emerging as champions. Ima Gabarro has disclosed that she’s still marveled at what she and her fellow teammates have achieved.
The final battle was between Spain and Japan. Spain took the lead in the first half, by scoring three goals, two of which were scored by Salma Paraluello, I’ma Gabarro also netted another ball into the goal to make it 3-0. At the start of the second half, Amano scored a consolation goal for Japan, as Spain later emerged winners of the U-20 Women’s World Cup game.
Gabarro who scored a total of eight goals in the tournament said she’s still in shock, over their achievement, she simply is star-struck at their incredible Performance and has no words to describe it. It will take some days for her to accept the reality that she is now a world champion. She further praised her team for the fight they put out throughout the tournament.
And reacting to being crowned as new champions at the U-20 women’s World Cup, Gabarro said on fifa.com: “I’m in shock. I can’t believe what we achieved. We are an incredible team. I have no words to describe what we did. To win a World Cup, right now, I can’t believe it. I don’t understand what just happened.
“I have the medal hanging around my neck and I’m still in shock. It’s going to take me a few days to believe that I’m a world champion.”
And speaking after helping her team win this year’s World Cup, Paralluelo said: “This is unbelievable. It leaves you in shock because it’s something so big that it’s hard to get your head around. I’m happy for the goals, for how we played, for how we fought. I am proud of the whole team.”
Super Falconets crashed out of the tournament in the quarter-finals after losing to the Netherlands, despite winning all their group fixtures.
