The highly anticipated second leg of the Africa Nations Championship held on Saturday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja. Nigeria succumbed to defeat as the Black Galaxies of Ghana won in a penalty shootout which ended as 5-4.

After a goalless first half, Zulikifilu Mohammed scored for Nigeria in the 76minute and Akuneto Chijioke scored another goal making it 2-0. Since Ghana defeated Nigeria on a 2-0 win in the first leg, Nigeria will then have to score three unequalised goals to win, and they only ended up scoring 2-0 which dragged the game to a penalty shootout. Nigeria lost after they missed one of their shots, making Ghana the winner since they missed none.

This is the first time since 2014 that Ghana will be qualifying for CHAN. If we can also recall, The Black stars of Ghana defeated Nigeria in the world cup qualifier.
