If we can recall, Erling Haaland once said, that he doesn’t want to be compared with other players as his major aim is to just score goals.
Several people have criticized the player for not touching the ball enough on the field and harboring the selfish intention to score goals. The Norwegian has replied to these critics that he has no intention of touching the ball enough on the field, as his major aim is to score with just a few touches.
According to Haaland, people may condemn him for not touching the ball enough on the pitch, but he does not care about what they say, as he knows already what he is going to do and that is to score goals.
“It was easy to stay focused,” he said. “People maybe talk about that I don’t touch the ball enough, this and that, but I don’t care about this “
“I know what I am going to do and what I have to do and this is exactly what I did.”
Haaland displayed the true spirit of sportsmanship as he showed no mercy on his former team Borussia Dortmund in Man city game yesterday in the champion league where he scored the second goal for Mancity which gave them victory over Dortmund.
Jude Bellingham scored for Dortmund putting them on the lead, things turned around as Manchester City ended up winning the game as they later scored two goals.
Speaking on the goal he scored, Haaland said that it was a special goal, and he did exactly same for Dortmund, in their game against Wolfsburg whilst he still played for them.
“It was a special goal,” he added. “I scored a bit of the same for Dortmund against Wolfsburg, I remember.”
“I’ve been trying this for the last games I played for City and finally it worked, so, yeah. It was a nice goal.”
