The People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, who is running for president in the 2023 election, has arrived in Benin, the capital of the Edo State.
Atiku visited the state government house after arriving, where he was welcomed by authorities.
He then made his way to the Oba of Benin’s palace, Ewuare II, where he is currently having a meeting with the king.
All elected governors running on the PDP platform were invited to the event, which got underway at 10 am and is likely to attract PDP bigwigs.
The Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State, will serve as the event’s location.
Atiku urged President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to intervene in the situation after some alleged thugs attacked the PDP presidential rally held in Kaduna on Monday.
