In Oyo State, Police officials have arrested two ex-employees of the now-defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria -PHCN, and a fake military officer for the alleged theft of a transformer and unlawful possession of firearms.
This was according to the spokesperson for the State police command, Adewale Oyefeso, who paraded the two men at the command headquarters in Ibadan today, October 31.
Also, Osifeso revealed that the command’s anti-crime patrol arrested the two former PHCN employees on Saturday, October 30 in Ogbomosho following a credible tip-off about their activities.
Five additional suspects had also been arrested together with the former PHCN staff for the alleged theft of a transformer.
According to him, a giant transformer valued at N5 million and a Toyota DAINA Truck used to transport the transformer were recovered from the suspects.
